Health and Nutrition Coordinator

Teresa is the Health and Nutrition Coordinator at Educare Chicago.

As the Health and Nutrition Coordinator, Teresa reviews data representing the health and nutritional wellness of families at Educare Chicago. She then takes those findings and makes determinations and recommendations on additional services and/or supports families may need. Prior to her current role, Teresa was a Family Support Specialist for five years at Educare Chicago, helping numerous families find adequate healthcare and employment opportunities, as well as assisting them with setting goals.

With over two decades of experience in the Head Start field, Teresa has a deep knowledge and understanding of early education programs and services. She started as a teacher floater at her daughter’s child care center, working in that role for eight years, then was promoted to a Family Support Specialist and remained in that role for 12 years, at which point she was then hired at Educare Chicago. From her time as a Head Start parent herself, she appreciates the support her children’s school provided her as a young mother trying to navigate parenthood and life. Now, in a position where she can help families thrive, she has found the ability to provide consistency and support to our families to be both rewarding and fulfilling.
